RSP LIVE Tournament
The tournament took place on March, 1, 2008 in the poker-club “Big Blind”. This tournament, held in St. Petersburg, was a third one of the series of events, conducted by Red Star Poker.
The action was held in the poker-club “Big Blind”, one of the best poker clubs of the Northern Capital at the present moment. By the time of registration it was already obvious that there would be no vacant places at the tables. And in fact, all the six tables were occupied, and there were more other persons who wanted to participate – that’s why the organizers took a decision to increase the number of players at the one table up to 11 persons. Besides, you had the opportunity to register in the waiting list in case of someone of the players would leave the tournament before the ending of three first levels. Consequently 72 players were registered.
The structure of the tournament suggested that there was an opportunity to re-buy during the first hour of the game and to make an addon during the first break. In the result the formed prize fond was 402,500 rubles. Top ten places were paid-off.
The tournament grabbed not only the citizens’ attention: there was also a delegation from Moscow poker-club “ODON”, who took part in the tournament.
It took nearly 6 hours for the players to define the 10 strongest ones and to form the final table, and one more half an hour to define the winners of the tournament. These were 4 persons at the same time, having agreed to share the prize. Unfortunately, only 3 names of the players are known: Arkadiy Shefler, Sergey Lyubchenko and Marina Kolbeshkina (the representative of Moscow poker club “ODON”).
We can say that the tournament RSP LIVE in St. Petersburg was successfully held, having gathered the maximum amount of players among the similar tournaments of the series. Moreover, the poker-club plans to increase the amount of tables that will give the opportunity to gather more participants in future. It was a first experience of playing in the live tournament for many of the players. Hopefully it brought only positive emotions for them.
